Angela,
I took the test, too, and I'm older than 28. :) In fact, the graphic at the top of the article is actually my results. I remember learning (like you) about auditory vs visual learners in school, although I vaguely remember learning more about some of these other areas in some of my college education classes. So, this was a great reminder for me to be actively looking for ways to incorporate more of the different learning styles in my teaching with Kate.

I was also disappointed that the Mercola article didn't really address HOW to do any of that, so I went on a bit of a search for myself. I found a couple of articles that I thought were helpful after doing only a cursory search, and I'm sure I'll be digging back into more when I have a bit more time. For now you can check out the following:

A whole list of articles on New Horizons for Learning.
A better description of the activities associated with each intelligence.
Loved this article because of the idea of assessment as a 'celebration of learning' rather than a pencil and scantron test.
Great list of questions for teachers to ask themselves as they're preparing a lesson.

If you find more articles that are more directed at adult learning, I'd love to read those, too! Please feel free to share anything you find!

I took the test even though I'm 28...in my day it used to be just a division between auditory and visual learning, but this is far more intricate. Although I wasn't sure Mercola's article helpfully explained how to harnass strengths or support weaknesses (did I miss it?), it was still pretty interesting to look at my test results and re-examine how I can learn better.

Pretty interesting stuff. Thanks!

Wendy,
Thanks for the tip and the follow-up, too! So glad to know that if the Vaseline fairy decides to visit us ever again, I'll have several tools in my belt for handling the mess she leaves behind! :)

Greetings. I skimmed across this site by mistake but was excited that I did. My wife and I have recently started a significant amount of web research for product research and ratings. When shopping it is paramount to utilize a site like this website. Finally, thanks for the advice - happy I searched this website and will keep in mind.

BTW -- I mixed the castile soap and baking soda, and her hair was squeaky clean on the first rinse. I followed it with regular shampoo and we were back to normal. Wahoo!

Here's another one for you. I just spent 2 hours cleaning my 4 year-old's room after she painted the walls with Vaseline and put it through her hair. After scraping the walls with a spatula (yes, it was that thick), I tried Dr. Bronner's Castile soap and hot water. I scrubbed and followed it up by wiping with a paper towel. It worked well, didn't hurt the paint at all, and is an organic fix.

Tomorrow I'll try it in her hair with the baking soda. . .thanks for the tips!

Poor mommy! I soooo know how you feel! It kind of takes the joy out of the end of the pregnancy to ride the roller coaster of "maybe today!" to "false start again..." I'm sure with three other little ones under foot you get little to no "mommy time", but if you can, try to squeeze in a little pampering for yourself soon. Something that will help lift your spirits and give you a little motivation to keep going for the next time. :)

You can do it, Momma. Just remember, this baby WILL come out and SOON! :) Praying for a quick and easy delivery for you, too.
