Leo Babauta, author of the organizational blog: zen habits, compiled a list of 15 fabulous tips for decluttering. Among them is the “one in, two out” rule…
The rule: whenever you bring in an item, you have to throw away two other items. First you cheat, by throwing out two pieces of paper, but soon you will have to move to big stuff.
This should really come in handy as I attempt to keep the floor of my kiddos’ play room at least somewhat visible! Enjoy:
So, after I re-organized my pantry ala MeckMom’s suggestions, I decided to try her idea for the refrigerator, too. As you can see from this ‘before’ picture, my refrigerator really needed some help! Everything was all crammed in with no real sense of rhyme or rhythm to it. And it always took forever to get to the pickles in the way back of the frig. If you’ve read my post, “It’s Too Quiet…” then you know why I’ve been on a quest to find the answer to the simple question of how to clean vaseline off of well… everything. (Amazing how much damage a 18 month old and 3 year old can do in just a few minutes time!)
So, after MUCH searching, I finally found a site that had directions on how to get vaseline off of clothes and fabrics. (FYI, ‘Vaseline’ is just a brand name of petroleum jelly.) Check out this diy site’s suggestions:
And then, I had a friend forward this mom’s story about vaseline and how she got it out of her son’s HAIR!!!! So I decided I should include her experience, too… Continue reading…
So, after two of my beautiful friends followed her steps on organizing a pantry and sent me the pics to prove it, I decided I should probably get on the ball and get mine done, too. Continue reading…
